Cartoons of the 90s: Part I
All those who were born in the 90s (including me)
were really blessed to have a fantastic childhood watching an amazing set of
animation stories called CARTOONS. The list is too lengthy to put in a single
blogpost. So let’s go back in time and take a tour of the first ten:
The powerpuff girls (Blossom
(smarty), Bubbles (cute) and Buttercup (rowdy)) were made by Prof.
Utonium by accidentally dropping the chemical X into the formula of
making perfect girls. And then on they dedicated their lifes to save the Townsville town from the monstrous Mojo
Jojo, Amoeba boys, Ganggreen Gang, HIM, etc. Remember the short Mayor and his curly haired secretary,
whose face was never shown!
It’s the story of
adventures of Uncle Scrooge and his three nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie.
The amazing gold treasure diver Scrooge
McDuck had a pilot Launchpad McQuack, known for his plane crashes++ count each time he flew. There was also an inventor
Gyro
Gearloose and butler Duckworth and nanny Mrs. Beakley,
with her granddaughter Webby. The villains in this series
included Magica and Beagle Boys.
Dexter, short and genius, had a secret lab in the house basement. He has tough
times keeping his sister, Didi (tall, slim and crazy) out of
the lab.
The signature sound “Beep
Beep” reminds of the Road Runner, a fast running ground
bird. The Coyote fox repeatedly attempts to catch this bird, but his
elaborate plans results in his devices comically backfiring on him in slapstick
fashion.
Noddy is a self employed taxi driver, driving his little red and yellow taxi in Toyland.
He wears a blue hat with a jingle bell
on it and has a pet Bumpy Dog as companion in all his adventures in Toyland. His
best friends are Big Ears (wise bearded brownie), Mr. Plod (policeman), Mr. Wobbly
(who cannot lie), Tessie Bear (clever female), Mr. Sparks (handyman who
mends anything), Diana Doll (who has a stall in the market), etc. Noddy gets
into trouble situations most of the time due to the duo goblins Sly and Gobbo.
Bob is a building contractor alongwith Wendy and their gang of work
vehicles namely: Scoop (backhoe loader), Muck (continuous track dump truck), Lofty
(mobile crane), Dizzy (tilting drum cement mixer) and Roley (road roller). Farmer
Percy Pickles often helps out Bob in his projects. He has Travis
(tractor), Sumsy (forklift), Packer (truck) and Spud
(sparecrow).
It’s a Stone Age series of the Flintstone family
of Fred
and Wilma and their daughter Pebbles and a pet dinosaur Dino.
Their next door neighbours are Barney and Betty Rubbles. They have
amazing set of machines like manmoth
vacuum cleaner, woodpecker gramophone, etc.
It’s a series of solving
supernatural mysteries by a group of four friends Fred, Daphne, Welma, Shaggy
and his pet companion, the protanogist Scooby Doo.
