Watching Women-centric Movies
This is an incremental post in which I will keep adding to the list. I watched these movies in theatre:
Mission Mangal
While this is a story of sending a rocket to Mars, it's connecting to the audience for the everyday life of a woman. Vidya is balancing both career and home, often labelled for not paying attention to kids. Kirti finds it difficult to get a house on rent, after breaking her marriage with a disloyal husband. Sonakshi is living her life to the fullest, breaking all stereotypes. Nithya manages work alongwith the label of being childless, then working throughout her pregnancy and even after child birth. Krithika is juggling between wife duties and career.
Baipan Bhari Deva
The story of six estranged sisters coming together for the mangala gaur competition. They resolve their differences and misunderstanding. The story also shows them sharing a drink, talking about inner wears, letting go, affects of not taking care of our body admist the family duties, racing to be the best, not prioritizing themselves, etc.
Jhimma 2
I watched part one on television. Its similar to the way I go on Women special tours. Topics of remarriage, single mother, hysterectomy, etc are discussed. The film promotes travel and how it transforms a person to their best version.
