Himachal Diaries: Part Thirteen

Day Seven (07.07.2024): Exploring Langzha

Langzha, also known as fossil village, is situated at an elevation of 14500 feet above the sea level. It is known for its stunning scenery, including snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and high-altitude deserts. The Chau Chau Kang Nilda Peak is a snow-capped mountain that is visible from here.

The Buddha Statue

A gigantic statue of Buddha guards the little hamlet of Langza. It is the tallest structure in the village and is located atop a hill. The statue is a ten-minute trek from the base parking area. The statue is believed to be 1,000 years old.

We reached the statue and clicked a few photos. The atmosphere was cold and windy. Trekking down to the statue was not that difficult. Post the statue, we had tea coffee break in the nearby cafe.

Hrishikesh briefed on tomorrow's itinerary. We had to pack one day luggage in a smaller bag when we proceed to Losar. The bigger bags would be loaded on the car carriage tomorrow post lunch and will be unloaded once we reach our hotel in Manali. Another catch was that the group will be splitting into two different hotels tomorrow at Losar. We started walking up to the parking area and now we had panting breaks. We reached our hotel at 7:15pm after this adventurous yet tiring journey of altitude hopping across four village and rested for the day. This was the busiest day on the whole journey.

We had dinner at 9pm, some had skipped the dinner due to tiredness. The kitchen crew was helpful enough to make something light for them. I was super tired but had to pack a smaller bag for a day. I had to be mindful of packing all the required things in the small bag. Done with packing two bags, I dozed off for the day.
