Around Middle East: Part Five
In which I explored the Sea World
13.12.2024: Tour Day Two
I woke up at 6am, had breakfast at 7am with Samidha and we left the hotel at 8:30am and drove to Abu Dhabi. There were talks about the limousine ride during breakfast. On the way to the Yas Island, we had tour member introduction. We entered the Yas World at 10am. Our itinerary included only Sea World and Ferrari World.
Yas Island is a man-made leisure island in Abu Dhabi. It's a popular destination offering a wide range of attractions and activities.
Ferrari World: Home to Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster, and a variety of Ferrari-themed rides and experiences.
Warner Bros. World: The world's largest indoor theme park, featuring characters and rides from Warner Bros. franchises.
Yas Waterworld: A water park with over 40 rides, slides, and attractions, including the world's largest tornado water coaster.
SeaWorld: The marine life theme park, offering animal encounters and rides.
CLYMB: Features the world's tallest indoor climbing wall and a large indoor skydiving flight chamber.
Yas Marina Circuit: Hosts the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and offers various driving experiences and events.
Karting at Yas Marina Circuit: A karting track for racing enthusiasts.
SeaWorld
The park is home to over 100,000 marine animals representing around 150 species. These animals reside in environments designed to mimic their natural habitats across eight immersive realms. I am detailing the realms not in the order I walked through them.
One Ocean: The central hub of the park featuring a 360-degree screen and shows like the "One Epic Ocean", story of a young woman’s epic global journey, experiencing many of Earth’s most unbelievable environments. We watched the show for ten minutes or so with these characters.
Abu Dhabi Ocean: Showcases marine life native to the Persian Gulf, with touch pools for stingrays and starfish. The architecture reflects the local Arabian style.
Rocky Point: Modeled after the North American Pacific Northwest, home to California sea lions and harbor seals, with a sea lion presentation amphitheater. We watched the sea lions diving and freely swimming into the waters, some seals lazing out on the rocks.
MicroOcean: An "underwater playground" designed for children (and adults too) with interactive play areas and rides like the Eel Racer (as fast as the giant eel), Jelly Plunge (rise and drop like a jellyfish), Turtle Twist (swing gliding as sea turtles), Octozoom (propel like an octopus). Due to time crunch, I took only the eel racer ride with Neha.
Tropical Ocean: Features bottlenose dolphins, flamingos, macaws, and other tropical species, along with the Wild Manta roller coaster.
Get ready for an exhilarating roller coaster with 17 airtime moments, that simulates the gliding and twisting motions of a manta ray, a zero gravity flip, and a bioluminescent tunnel showcasing Ray Reef's marine life. I took this ride with Neha and Vrushali at 12:30pm. Finally back to roller coasters after two years to USS. Post that we watched the Dolphin show at 12:45pm.
Arctic: Home to walruses, sea otters, and puffins, and features the immersive Hypersphere 360° dome theater ride.
Explore the depths of the ocean in a fully immersive, 360 degree multimedia sphere and get ready to embark on a journey full of wonder and discovery beneath the waves. It was an awe-inspiring experience diving into the oceans on earth and still not get wet!
Antarctica: An icy realm housing various penguin species. Air temperatures of 1°C and water temperatures of 7°C provide the ideal climate for our 6 species of Subantarctic and Antarctic penguins.
Endless Ocean: Contains one of the world's largest multi-species aquariums with 6.6 million gallons of saltwater and over 1,800 species, including sharks and rays, viewed through underwater tunnels. Viewing areas into the various habitats, including a 20m vertical window, named the Endless Vista, The Cave, as well as tunnels and an escalator ride to the bottom of the Endless Ocean aquarium.
There was a lot to watch but we had to leave the venue and reach Ferrari World. More on this in next post.
