Around Middle East: Part Four

In which I explored the Dubai Marina

Day One continues...

Dubai Marina is a large, luxurious waterfront situated along the Persian Gulf. Key attractions include the Dubai Marina Mall, Dubai Marina Walk and the Dubai Marina Beach.

We boarded the Dhow dinner cruise arranged by Falcon Oasis, it left the shore at 5:30pm.

Dubai Marina Dhow Cruise offers a unique dining experience with views of the city's skyline and modern architecture. These cruises include a buffet dinner, live Tanura show  (a traditional whirling dance with soft background music) and open-air and air-conditioned decks. The cruise takes you along Dubai Marina, offering beautiful views of the city's high-rise buildings and contemporary cityscape for one and half hours to two hours.

We stopped near the ferris wheel for the light show at 6pm.
We had dinner at 6:30pm. Many were enjoying dance to the DJ tunes.

Ain Dubai
It is a giant Ferris wheel located on Bluewaters Island. It is the world's tallest observation wheel, reaching a height of 250 meters (820 feet), distributed across 48 cabins. Offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of Dubai Marina, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Khalifa.

We were back to the shore at 7pm and drove off to Souk Al Bahar for the Fountain show. We reached the venue at 8:30pm.

Souk Al Bahar (Market of the Sailor)
It is a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination in the heart of Downtown Dubai. It offers a modern take on a traditional Middle Eastern marketplace, characterized by its Arabian-inspired architecture, featuring natural stone corridors, high arched gateways, wooden lattice work, and subtle lighting, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of old Arabia. Situated on the waterfront in Downtown Dubai, it enjoys a prime location adjacent to the Dubai Mall and overlooks the stunning Dubai Fountain and the iconic Burj Khalifa. It is connected to the Dubai Mall by a bridge spanning Burj Lake, making it easily accessible. We witnessed the fountain show at 9pm.

The Dubai Fountain

It is a spectacular choreographed fountain system located on the man-made Burj Khalifa Lake, right in front of the Dubai Mall, it is the world's largest dancing fountain. It stretches over 900 feet (275 meters) in length. The fountain features powerful water jets that can shoot water up to 500 feet (150 meters) into the air – as high as a 50-storey building. It can hold over 22,000 gallons of water at any given moment. The water dances in sync with a captivating selection of musical pieces, ranging from classical Arabic tunes to contemporary international hits. The performances are enhanced by over 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors, creating a stunning visual spectacle, especially at night. It can create over 1,000 different water expressions.

Done with the show, we were back to the bus at 9:20pm and reached our hotel at 10pm. Tomorrow would be a packed itinerary. Not sure how will it be managed. I got the bag ready for tomorrow and dozed off.
