Overnight outing @Lonavala: Part Two
Day Two: 5th
Mar, 2017
The sole idea of going to Lonavala was not to see each and
every point there. It was to meet friends and get some fresh air; I should get
out of Mumbai for a while! The Lonavala morning was awesome. Yojana was the
first to get up early, I was second. We both had the morning time chatting on
this sofa-cum-swing and hearing the chirping birds. We all got ready for the
next destination to visit. Here’s a picture of our selfies with friends after
six years of graduation, due credit to the selfie stick of Smita!
We took a rick to Narayani Dham, booked our lunch there, and
came out for breakfast at the tea-stall. We ordered tea and kanda-bhaji and I
took maggi ofcourse. There were many discussions over the cup of chai; one was to
catch a train which halts at Dadar station.
The Narayani Dham temple is a
peaceful place. The gardens were full of roses and other flowers. And there was a water fountain too. Click here for the Fountain video! The temple is made of white marbles. There was a long hanging
bell at the entrance covered with marigold flowers. Inside there were small
tables made of cane to sit on. There was an Ambe-Maa murti in the centre and
Siddhivinayak to its right and Hanuman to its left. We sat there praying for a
while and then headed for the lunch. There was a long queue.
The bargaining sessions were similar whenever we took a
rick. We came back to the Inn, relaxed for some time and packed our stuffs. Here’s
the last selfie at the cottage.
As there was no reservation, we had to board
the general Compartment. So stand in the queue till the train arrives! Finally the
Deccan Express arrived at the platform and we luckily got seats together. On
the journey we saw deep valleys and high hills and yes Sunset! I got to see the
complicated Central lines local stations. Mohini got down at Thane and there
was a Thane-Panvel train waiting just for her to get in! All others got down at
Dadar, bid Goodbye to each other and walked our ways to catch the trains. The two
days outing was refreshing and memorable!
