New Year Celebrations @Inspire: 29.12.2017

A week before New Year's Eve, the Secret Santa mail popped into our mailbox. Chits were drawn, Secret Santa's got engaged into knowing likes/dislikes and finally deposited the gifts to Vrushali Darade and Nikhil Deshmukh.

The New Year Celebration was on 29.12.2017, the last Working Day of the year. The dress code was red or white. Finally all gifts were kept on desks at morning. Surprise element of the day was the Elixir Awards mailer from Sonam Kardam:

All three were happy to receive the awards. Sonam Kardam shared her experience on managing the Elixir Portfolio and Support Optimization. Deepak Sir emphasized on development of applications which would need 0% support. Then the charge was handed over to CommunIT team. Four groups were randomly formed: Reindeer, IT Santa, Captain Santa and Santa Banta. There were six games. First game was "Flip the cup", wherein the team members had to toss an inverted paper cup and make it straight.

The second game was "Decorate the Christmas Tree". It sounds easy peasy, here the tree was the tallest person in each group. Three members, who will be decorating the tree, will be blindfolded and there will a fourth member as instructor giving out the decorative stuffs to them and guiding them where to place it.

The whole exercise was fun and rolling laughter. Finally our four Christmas Trees  got decorated:
Akash Kotian, Abhijeet Torne, Abhijeet Donde, Harish Sir
The next was a Foodie game, wherein all the foodies from each group enthusiastically nominated to play. It was a "Good Day" task; the member has to put a Good Day biscuit on forehead and somehow try to bring it to the mouth and eat it. Many struggled while few were successful. It was all on how your neck is tilted.

The next game was "Passing the Polo", wherein the member has to pick up a polo from one desk using a straw and transfer it to the next desk. The next game was strength testing, "Blow the balloon till it bursts". There were balloons bursting and applause. The last game "Drinkers Special"was a sweet surprise, or should I say bitter? The team members had to drink the bitter gourd (Karela) juice in two sips. There were sugar packets available to compensate the taste buds. While the CommunIT team got busy into tallying the scores, all the Project Trainees introduced themselves. Ravi Sir announced the results. Reindeer team won; winners got chocolates. The cake cutting was done by Project trainees. We ate the cake, greeted "Happy New Year" to all and left for home with the Secret Santa's gift.
