Serials I like the most

While I watched many serials, gave up on some midway (due to the story plot), these are the serials through which I remained stuck till the end. Also these are the ones I can watch over and over again without getting bored.

This is an incremental post in which I will keep adding to this list.

CID (Crime Investigation Department)
Be it "Kuch toh gadbad hai Dayaa!" or "Dayaa, darwaza tod do"; every 90s kid is familiar with these dialogues. It's ACP Pradyuman, Sr. Inspector Abhijeet, Sr. Inspector Dayaa solving criminal cases every Friday, with the assistance of Forensic Expert Dr. Salunkhe. It also included Inspector Fredricks (who feared ghosts), Dr. Tarika, and also many male and female Sub Inspectors since the show ran for 20 years since 1998. The series consists of hard-core police procedural stories dealing with investigation, detection, and suspense.

Hip Hip Hurray

"Aaj Hamara Kal Apna, Koi Maane Ya Na Maane,
Apni Hasti HaiMasti Ke Hasi Tarane, Hip Hip Hurray!!
Bachpan Hai BhiGaya Kab Ka HaiDoor Hai Jawani
Abhi Kuch Khatti Si,Kuch Meethi Si,Hai Alag Kahani Sab Ki,
Hum Sab Ke Dukh, Sab Ki Khushiyaan,
Milkar Ek Rang Banati Hai,
Us Rang Me Rang Ke Hum,
Sab Ek Rang Ho Jaate Hai,
Himaat Aisi, Ke Aasman Chhu Jaate Hai, Hip Hip Hurray!!"
The series of 1998, is based on the lives of 12th-grade students at the DeNobili High School and their adventures, their fears and hopes, and their relationships and interactions. Besides that, the story also focuses on issues pertinent for the younger generation such as dating, drugs, careers, health, exams, and causes, in a light-hearted manner. My favourite characters from the show were Piya, Mona, Cyrus and Raghav. While it was a finite series of 80 episodes, I wanted it go on and on. Every episode was entertaining as well as it gave us a learning. Click playlist to watch.

KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati)
The serial was the most watched serial of the 2000s. Ever since it started, everyone was glued to the television at 9pm Mon to Thu. One reason for the shows popularity even till the current season is Big B, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Another is the questions and the answers.

Gurukul
This Sunday Morning finite series was hosted by my favorite actor Sakshi Tanwar, in the year 2000. Every new episode takes the viewers along through the portals of wisdom and grandeur which got bestowed upon us by our forefathers since the ancient times. It comprises of the incredible and inexhaustible beauty contained in our ancient texts.

His success rate of acquittals is 100 percent. But most importantly K.D. stands not for his client, but for Justice. Every weekend episode holds suspense and thrill till the end and finally K.D. finds out the truth. He is assisted by Varun and Inspesctor Dave. Click playlist to watch.

Khotey Sikkey
A cop, who is stuck in his ways, meets five youngsters and together they try to solve a number of cases in their own peculiar manner. This series had 25 thrilling episodes on weekends in the year 2011.

Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani
The show was the first youth-centric supernatural series, inspired by The Vampire Diaries and Twilight Saga. It was not just about the love story of a girl Piya and a vampire Abhay, it also included college life, hostel, competitions, family drama, friendships, etc. The characters Piya and Misha were my favourite. They were friends turned soul sisters. Click playlist to watch.

Airlines - Har Udaan Ek Toofan
It follows the journey of an ambitious young woman Ananya Rawat who marks to become a top female pilot amongst this male dominant industry along with the ups and downs between her and her co pilot Akash Saluja. This was a finite Sunday series of 24 episodes starting Aug 2014. Dhadkan Zindagi Kii
Dr Deepika Sinha sets off on a journey to pursue a successful career in the medical field ridden with patriarchy and to disprove the beliefs of her loved ones, colleagues and society. This is a finite series, starting Dec 2021, of 75 episodes describing the situations in the Emergency Ward and the Operation Theatre, alongwith what goes on parallel in the personal lives of the doctors. Well for me, watching every episode was living my unfulfilled dream of becoming a surgeon. Click playlist to watch.
