Around South East Asia: Part Six

Journey to the Lion City

10.12.2022: Tour Day 4, Country 2, City 1

We had to get up quite early, get ready and keep the luggage in the bus by 6:30am and have breakfast. We left the hotel at 7am. Yeeshwari recorded feedback from everyone. We thanked her for the support and guidance throughout the tour in Malaysia. Then we played Antakshari for a while. We had the final lunch in Ketting restaurant. Post that we drove to the immigration office at 1:30pm. The visa was checked, and passport was stamped. We got into the bus and drove ahead to the sea link to cross the Malaysian-Singapore road border. We reached the Singapore immigration office at 3pm. We had to go through the security check in similar to that on the airport. The luggage was also scanned. We queued up for the immigration, visa was checked and stamped. After a washroom break, we got into the bus and reached the hotel Furama Riverfront at 4pm.

The hotel was on a self-service mode. We need to take our luggage to the room. If we need extra napkins, tea-coffee sachets, there was a section available with all the amenities. We got the room keys and headed to the lift. Now when we reached the 7th floor, I took my luggage and exited the lift and then asked my roommate to do so. The room was straight in front on the lift area, I opened the room and turned back to see that she is nowhere means that she remained in the lift. I kept my luggage into the room and locked it. I tried stopping the same lift but in vain. She had actually gone back to the ground floor. Well, she knows how to use the lift, as in Malaysia we never took the lift together. Here I was worried on what happened and the moment she came back to the floor, she just started shouting on me, stating how useless roommate was I. This turned into an ugly fight. I do not want to write more on this. Post that we were not on talking terms. I normally avoid conflicts but here it went above my head. We assembled at the reception and left the hotel at 6:15pm for the night safari. We met our Singapore tour guide, Selena. She was cracking more jokes than talking. She briefed on the whole itinerary. We reached the venue at 7pm. The show was scheduled for 7:30pm. We queued up for the amphitheater and grabbed our seats.

Night Safari Amphitheatre

The Creatures of the Night presentation is a popular highlight at Night Safari. Be amazed as our wildlife ambassadors such as the Asian small-clawed otters and fennec fox display their natural talents, and look out for new additions onstage, including the raccoon dog and bearded pigs. Learn more about animal conservation and sustainability with our elusive nocturnal creatures in this awe-inspiring presentation. The 30-minute show was awe-inspiring, watching a lot of animals and birds. Post that we queued up at the Tram Station to get into our trams for the Safari Trail

I wished I had a good camera to capture photos of the animals. It felt like we were walking in the moonlight and watching animals. The speaker mentioned which animal are we going to see ahead and information on the same. We saw a herd of elephants, otters, pangolin, leopard, hippo, deer's, lions, etc.

We had dinner at the Ulu Ulu restaurant at 9pm and were back to the hotel at 10pm. Post that few of us went walking on the streets of Singapore. I was in no mood to go to the room at all. Singapore at night is a delight to watch, the colorful lit bridges, and the sightseeing monuments.

We walked till the Clarke Quay and walked back to the hotel, on the way chatting on different topics. I went to the room, got fresh, and slept. Actually, I had a sleepless night. I just had one thing in mind, two more nights to go.
