Around South East Asia: Part Three

In which we went chocolate shopping

08.12.2022: Tour Day 2

I got up early in the morning, got ready and went for breakfast at 7:15am. The breakfast consisted of veg flat samosa, fruits, corn, salads, mashed potato, bread butter jam, juice, etc. We got into the bus and reached our first destination at 9:30am.

Harriston Boutique

Harriston chocolates are made from the finest cocoa beans using a mixture of both original in-house developed and traditional recipes. In addition to the traditional chocolates, they now have a wonderfully eclectic collection of more than 150 uniquely Malaysian chocolates infused with tropical fruits, herbs, and spices. The entry has a tree structure and the actual cocoa tree.

There are 10 steps of chocolate making. You can zoom in the image and read.

Ladies got into buying chocolates. Post that we had a washroom break and then sat chatting for a while on the seats outside the boutique. Then we proceeded to the Batu Caves, Sudha Kodali had suggested this.

Batu Caves

Batu Caves is situated on a mogote which is a type of steep-sided hill made out of limestone, marble or dolomite. This limestone formation is thought to be around 400 million years old and is quite a sight on the edges of the massive Kuala Lumpur. The Lord Murugan statue is the massive gold statue next to the 272 colorful stairs. Its height is a massive 42.7 meters, and it took three years to build.

We reached the venue at 11am. We did not walk up the stairs to the top. We visited the adjacent temples. It was quite a peaceful feeling.

Then we proceeded to the Times Square for duty free shopping. Ladies were so much lost into it. What I do is roam around the whole shop and then sit and observe people. We also had a lychee juice. We further drove to the Genting Highlands. More about it in next post.
