My First Solo Travelogue: Part Six

Day Six: 24.07.2018

I got up at 05:30am and was glad that I didn't catch cold. It was a rainy morning, with snow clad mountain tops and calm water of the lake. We got ready and had paratha breakfast at 7am; followed by a reminder on the PAP principle. Today we had to drove back to Leh en routing the Changla pass. There were water streams flowing from the mountains towards the ground. We had to cross the stream filled roads. We got engrossed in talking about our vehicle group and there was a thud sound. A rock hit our vehicle and it got little damaged. So then our group got split into different vehicles wherever we could accommodate. We reached Hotel Kanishka at 2pm and had our lunch.

There was a fashion show in the evening; this is a part of Women Special Tour only. Also we would get a chance to meet Ms. Veena Patil. We got ready at 05:30pm and were welcomed at Hotel Palam Hills (it was 5 minutes walk from our hotel).

Fashion Show

There was a center area for the ramp walk; chairs were arranged at both sides. Pune group sat on one side and Mumbai group on the other side. There was a chair arranged for Veena Ma'am. She would be judging us; and we would get Miss Veena World from amongst us. Also there will be a finale for singing and myboli competition. There were 24 queen prizes to be won. Finally Veena Ma'am arrived and had a chat with all of us. For the first time, I was meeting a successful female entrepreneur in person. She introduced her team and partners. 

We started the show with the song "Moraya Moraya" sung by Pravin and Sarvesh. The ramp walk was initiated by the Veena World Crew. Veena Ma'am gave us a hint, "Walk as if you are your own Queen". We had got numbers pinned on our dresses, and the music was such that it gave the actual fashion show feel. I did the ramp walk for the first time. Every female did something different. Finally we were done with the ramp walk.

The singing competition was done with six melodious songs. No one did beat Trupti Hathi in Myboli; except her all did speak an English word and were out. Supriya Nijampurkar performed an act. Vidyut Varkhedkar talked about her book, "Diary on the wheels". You can read more on this on her blog http://vidyutvarkhedkar.in/ Then the floor was cleared for dancing. Meanwhile snacks were also served and all the beautiful ladies were enjoying the rejuvenation. Finally the prizes were announced, winners were felicitated with the queen sashes. It gave a Miss World feeling to wear the sash and get clicked. The queen awards are:

The program ended with the cake cutting and photo shoots. We got back to Hotel Kanishka and had our dinner. Next day's program was detailed. We would be traveling to Kargil, so we had to pack accordingly. Finally tomorrow evening I would be reaching the place which made me book this tour.
