Etched in Scars, Etched in Stars
A year of storms, both fierce and slow,
Of health undone, of letting go.
Twelve kilos lost, a fragile frame,
Reminding me — the body must claim.
The mind too trembled, doors left wide,
Anxiety’s whispers rushed inside.
Yet meditation taught me peace,
A halfway path where fears release.
True friends appeared when shadows fell,
Not those who cheer success to tell.
But hands that lift from puddles deep,
And wait until my soul can leap.
Overdoing — a trap I knew,
Overthinking, caring too.
Life unfolds as it must be,
No need to force what’s meant to see.
Stay too long, you lose your worth,
Comfort zones can dim your birth.
Change the place, reclaim your stand,
Do not become a doormat’s brand.
Desperate bonds with strangers made,
A hungry heart in haste betrayed.
Yet gratitude for friends who stayed,
Their light restored the path I strayed.
Social scrolls consumed my days,
Comparisons in endless haze.
I chose instead to write, to learn,
To let my inner compass turn.
Hobbies revived my fading flame,
Calligraphy, photos, a gentle claim.
Self-love whispered, “You are enough,”
Even when the journey’s rough.
Values tested, trust betrayed,
Yet honesty my anchor stayed.
Change is constant, seasons turn,
Gratitude — the gift we earn.
Celebrate both joy and fall,
Failures too can teach us all.
Fantasy dreams of soulmates fade,
Reality’s strength is self-made.
Self-worth demands respect and space,
Not monkeys climbing on my face.
Self-dates at cafés, hikes alone,
Remind me strength is mine to own.
Quiet exits, battles lost,
Attachments severed, heavy cost.
Yet letting go brings lighter skies,
Butterflies leave, but hope still flies.
Help I asked when storms grew wild,
True friends listened, reconciled.
Expectations slow the climb,
Step by step, I’ll reach in time.
Heart and brain must learn to meet,
Balance facts with feelings sweet.
And YOLO sings its final song,
Live your dreams — life isn’t long.
