Cakes and Candles

Birthdays are one of the special days in our lifes. Though we gave our Moms atmost labour pain on DOB; we do celebrate to the fullest. And why not, we completed one revolution of the sun. Childhood birthdays are full of cakes and candles having numbers; balloons and conical caps; family and neighbours. We are the models on whom all the gifted dresses are tried out and we do photo shoots giving various poses as directed by whosoever is the photographer. Birthdays at school have the long bday songs sung by our classmates and chocolates distribution. Mom makes all your favourite dishes and sweets. Real birthday parties start in college. You are princess of the day and give treat to friends from your pocket money. Hostel birthday celebrations start at midnight and faces get a cake makeup. At office again colleagues wish you and of course you have to give a treat! It feels so special when even your end users and stakeholders wish you “Happy Birthday!” on mails, skype, etc. Some will even give a call. Friend-made greetings get posted on your wall. And a personalized birthday cake surprise from a special friend fills to the brim with happiness. Since midnight, all of us are awake with the mobile in hand to see the wishing SMSs and WhatsApp messages. Some friends even call at exact 12am to wish you. We keep replying and chatting till 1am. The whole day we keep receiving calls and messages and mails; little credit to the apps for notifications. So do keep wishing “Happy Birthday!” to all on their bdays without fail. It really makes us feel special and very HAPPY!
