SMAAASH
In our Systems Family, we have teams as per M4s. I already mentioned about
the Disco Dancer M4 in earlier post and being part of his team is a treat. Year
2014 onwards we started having team get-togethers. Unlike other teams, our team
does a lot more than just having dinner. After all we are Rockstar Programmers of
the Starfish
team. Deepak Sir (Deepak Bhosale) always thinks of something different.
The team dinner I vividly remember is of Year 2015. The responsibility was
entrusted to Ankit Modi and I would say he did a very good job. Team members
got the below mail from him. The picture itself explains that lets SMAAASH it on 23rd Mar, 2015.
The cool cabs were booked and we left for the location by 3pm. The games
were booked from 4pm to 6pm. Two lanes of Twilight bowling were booked for us.
At first I wasn't able to play. As always Ravindra came to help me out by
picking the lightest ball and showing exactly how to throw. After little
practice, I was playing fairly; knocked out 9 once! There were starters
and juice
arranged for us. There was Cricket too; two lanes booked for it.
Other games included XD theatre (what a roller coaster,
mindboggling experience), Hoopla shots (basketball), Target
shooting (ten trials each person), Virtual Paragliding, Vertigo,
Goalie
Guacamole, etc. There was a room booked for us. Songs were played on Youtube from a laptop. We took
charge and changed the playlist. "Sooraj duba hai yaaro, do ghut nashe k
maaro..." and so on and as usual all had to dance compulsorily.
Many moments got captured in the camera. Around 7.45pm we had dinner. Dinner
was normal buffet but good. We left around 8.30pm from the venue. We all were
feeling fresh and energetic. The team dinner was more of a team outing and all
this can happen only and only in Disco Dancer's team! The next day we
had stories to tell about this memorable evening to our desk neighbours,
friends from other teams, etc. I started with Sriram. He said, "The
way you are narrating with so much excitement; surely you guys had a lot of fun!
This cannot be called Team Dinner!” I am not a part of Starfish now; so
I will be missing such kind of fun. Once a Rockstar programmer; always a
Rockstar programmer!
